St. Pete’s Marine Science Community

If you’re looking to recruit marine scientists head to the Downtown Bayboro District of St. Pete. Here you will find the largest marine science community in the Southeast. The city’s ideal waterfront location is why many marine science research institutes and organizations call it home, including: the University of South Florida College of Marine Science- Center for Ocean Technology, the Florida Institute of Oceanographic Research, the U.S. Geological Survey Center of Coastal Geology and Regional Commission, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission-Florida Marine Research Institute, the Center for Marine Conservation and SRI International.

Tampa’s Bioscience Cluster

The Tampa MSA is home to a cluster of bioscience industries. From companies that make analytic instruments and medical devices, to a growing number of biopharmaceutical firms, you’ll find more than 17,500 people employed in the biosciences sector here. There are also a number of research institutions including the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, where genomics research is a specialty; the James A.
